HR Administrator (Apprentice)

Purpose of the Role:

 

This role is responsible for providing a high level of HR administration support to the People Partners, People Coordinators and wider McLaren Racing organisation.

 

This position plays an integral role in the HR team by providing entry level support to help the team run efficiently and effectively. In addition, you will provide exceptional HR service to employees and present an exciting opportunity to complete your CIPD Level 3 Diploma in Human Resources while working alongside a passionate and innovative People Team. You will have the opportunity to support all functions within McLaren Racing, giving you a diverse exposure to, commercial, Engineering and Production environments.

  • Work closely with all levels and areas within the People and Culture Team
  • This role requires flexibility to working hours, working in a fast-paced multi-tasking environment and the role holder must be comfortable dealing with a high-volume workload.
  • You will be the first point of contact for our employees and will drive a positive employee experience.

 

Principal Accountabilities:

 

  • Responsible to managing the HR Inbox in a timely manner, acting as a first point of contact where possible and escalating to the Senior Manager or People Co-ordinators where appropriate.
  • Support the Lead, Talent & DE&I Partner with recruitment administration, booking in interviews, CV screening and adhoc duties.
  • Provide a right first time, flawless and efficient administration service.
  • Prepare employee contracts and offer letters (via DocuSign), reference requests, contractual change letters, maternity/paternity letters, flexible working letters and leaver documentation.
  • Support the People Coordinators with the administration process of monthly payroll and yearly reward process with the Finance Team ensuring all employee changes are captured and actioned and systems updated to reflect changes.
  • Responsible for ensuring SAP data is updated and maintained and all employees are set-up correctly in the system.
  • Conduct and coordinate new starter onboarding process from administration, right to work checks references and DBS checks prior to joining to first day inductions, compliance training and probation process.
  • Support the People Coordinator to track all fixed term and contractor end dates and manage associated process to ensure paperwork and PO’s are in place.
  • Lead and create the People Team quarterly newsletter
  • Support the People Coordinators and wider people team with any ad hoc projects
  • Work towards completing the CIPD Level 3 Diploma in Human Resources

Job requirements

 

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

 

  • Robust administrative skills and excellent IT competence (Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel)
  • Previous experience of working in an administration role.
  • Confidence in verbal and written communication in English
  • Someone who can work independently; multitask, organise and prioritise workloads and meet strict deadlines.
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Thrive working in a fast-paced environment.
