HPC & Cloud, AI/ML Platform Engineer

For many fans of Formula One, the sport exists between lights and chequered flag on a Sunday afternoon. It begins and ends with the exploits of the drivers on the track. But this is merely the tip of the spear. The reality of modern F1 is that of a complex and intertwined operation, every part of which needs to perform near its limit if success is to be achieved. From the pit crew searching for the ultimate repeatable pit stop, to the inspiration of the designers, the application of engineers and the herculean efforts of an army of fabricators and machinists, Formula One is a team sport in a very literal sense – that's why we love what we do.

Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a High-Performance Computing (HPC) Engineer to join the HPC team supporting various engineering and performance simulation groups.  The group has expanded beyond traditional HPC and now includes responsibility for Cloud, AI/ML, Data Analytics, Observability, Monitoring and DevOps platforms utilised in the HPC areas.  The HPC team provides services and support to Red Bull Racing, Red Bull Technology, Red Bull Powertrains and Red Bull Advanced Technologies.

The role will be to design, implement and maintain High Performance Computing platforms for various groups within the organisation including Aerodynamics / Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), structural analysis (FEA), vehicle dynamics and tools, technologies and methodology groups.  In addition to providing operational support of existing HPC infrastructure there are several exciting “green field” projects developing around newer technologies.  We are also actively modernising existing legacy platforms as part of a continuous improvement exercise adopting more modern languages and coding standards.

You should be enthusiastic about all aspects of HPC, technologies, tools and methodologies while embracing new technologies where appropriate.  We are looking for strong platform engineers with a breadth and depth of experience in the following areas: HPC; 3D VDI; AI/ML; Cloud-Native; Data Analytics & Observability; Monitoring & Operations; Devops & Software Development.  We do not expect applicants to have in-depth experience across all of these areas, however, the successful applicants will be provided with support to develop in each of these areas as required by the requirements of the business.

We are a small team so there is plenty of scope to take ownership of projects and drive them forward through to adoption. We open to hearing from people with experience at different levels and stage in their careers to ensure we have the right balance of skills and experience within the team.

Our people are our best asset. While we expect the highest possible standards from all personnel, in return we offer competitive salaries and a substantial benefit and bonus scheme package including private health care, life assurance scheme, workplace nursery, company contributed pension scheme, on site gym and fitness classes, free workplace food and a cycle to work scheme.
