Head of Manufacturing

We are seeking a Head of Manufacturing to lead our multi-disciplined manufacturing teams, taking ownership over the manufacturing facilities, processes and systems. You will plan/schedule build projects and support design for manufacture to establish an ultra-modern manufacturing function where we can continue to build our revolutionary technology.

Our Head of Manufacturing will:

  • Develop manufacturing capability and processes, supporting senior management in decision making and company strategy related to manufacturing
  • Support creation of manufacturing cost models, supporting pricing for new projects
  • Support DFM processes - leading the communication of manufacturing requirements
  • Take leadership of tooling methods, specification and supplier agreements
  • Support the make / buy decisions
  • Development (in conjunction with Quality Manager) of appropriate and effective quality documentation and controls for manufacturing, ensuring compatibility with TS16949 standard
  • Leadership of VA/VE to contribute to the continual improvement of the company’s manufacturing costs and capacity, and to meet the budgeted production cost
  • Lead a multi-skilled manufacturing team, supporting planning and prioritising of work, performance and resources
  • Continuous development of manufacturing methods to create high quality products and driving change
  • Develop and manage KPI’s to improve the efficiency, quality and reliability of the manufacturing team and the products they assemble
  • Research and investigate new manufacturing methods and technologies
  • Ensure department operates in accordance to the Health and Safety rules and regulations

About You:

  • Strong experience in a fast-paced manufacturing / production environment, ideally with some working knowledge of low to medium volume manufacture of complex electro-mechanical products
  • A relevant qualification (ideally a degree) in a manufacturing related subject
  • Capable of driving change and manufacturing process development
  • A strong understanding of MRP systems related to small batch manufacture with high value products
  • Able to build and develop a high performing, multi-disciplined team
  • Process driven and open minded in process innovation, inspiring a team to adopt and implement change

You may previously have worked as a Manufacturing Manager, Operations Manager, Senior Manufacturing Manager, Manufacturing Director
