Purpose of this Position

The GM (General Manager) job is to ensure that National Speed is delivering an excellent customer experience first and foremost, while providing an excellent work environment for team members. The purpose of the GM role is to lead, communicate, solve problems, and drive profitability.

You must genuinely care about delivering an excellent customer experience, and fostering an excellent work environment. Always professional, openly communicating, and speaking the truth – working as a team member. Being prepared and organized is key to finding success, and also taking initiative.

  • Ensuring that the customer’s expectation for time (for both work to begin, and when the car will be ready for delivery), cost, and result are properly set and met – and reset if they change
  • During reception, the build, and delivery, customer’s project and any issues that may arise with it are treated with appropriate care
  • Meeting required cashflow goals to ensure the sustained success of National Speed
  • Collecting payments on in-process jobs every payroll period (every 2 weeks)
  • Ensuring that the shop’s appearance inspires confidence
  • When necessary, stepping in to aid the sales effort – due to lack of performance, overwhelming inquiries, or otherwise in the Performance Consultant’s absence – the GM is ultimately responsible for the shop’s sales numbers
