Role Overview

The Finance Controller is reports directly to CAO and oversees accounting staff and provides financial information that will assist the CEO, CFO and COO in making financial and economic decisions. This is a leadership position that is proactive and solution oriented. The individual in this role will be an expert communicator and leader with a strong ability to oversee responsibilities and collaborate across a wide range of departments domestically and globally.    

Responsibilities

  • Lead and direct all financial areas, including accounting, internal controls, budget preparation and tracking and risk management. This individual will also work very closely with the company's leadership team at Fisker’s global headquarters (California, USA).

  • Develop and implement strong financial policies and procedures. This includes developing policies and procedures to keep pace with the fast growth and changes in the company's operations.

  • The Finance Controller's objective is to develop appropriate measurements of the company's performance, work with managers to achieve the results, and communicate these results to senior management.

  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with other managers to provide assistance with the identification and development of creative solutions to a full range of business opportunities and/or problems.

  • Assure the integrity, accuracy, and completeness of the organization's records and ensure that financial statements are presented on a timely basis as required by the company in accordance with US GAAP and China GAAP

  • Ensure that the business operations comply with Fisker’s internal accounting policies, controls over financial reporting, and procedures as well as local regulations.

  • Plan and direct short-term and long-term financial forecasting as an integral part of the business planning process.

  • Evaluate and recommend changes in the company's cost structure, as appropriate.

  • Responsible for the successful establishment of Fisker’s new entity in China.

  • Develop strategic plans for optimized productivity.

  • Uphold standards of excellence and quality.  Develop and enforce all policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines in alignment with the laws in China.

  • Deep understanding of direct and indirect tax requirements in China.   This individual will be responsible for the implementation of VAT strategies co-developed with the CAO and will coordinate local filings with tax authorities in China.

  • Contribute and assist with other key projects as needed.

Qualifications / Knowledge / Experience

  • At least 10 years of work experience with a bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field

  • Automotive OEM or automotive component manufacturing experience

  • US CPA preferred

  • Excellent fluency in English and Mandarin

  • Proven experience in managerial role

  • Strong decision-making capabilities

  • Exceptional communication, collaboration, and delegation skills

  • Proving ability to develop and maintain financial plans

  • Ability to motivate and lead people and hold employees accountable

  • Strong working knowledge of operational procedures
