Finance Business Partner - Regulations

The Position
An exciting opportunity exists for a Finance Business Partner to join our expanding Finance Business Partnering team and play a crucial role in optimising spend to develop, manufacture and race our F1 car. The successful candidate will be required to challenge the status quo on current processes and Financial regulations and provide key recommendations to support cost-performance and optimisation decisions.

 

The Position Responsibilities
This role is responsible for leading a small team of analysts that provide analysis and support to the Business Partnering and Reporting teams, particularly in relation to the cost cap regulations.

The team will be required to:

  • Lead cost optimisation and efficiency projects with the wider business.

  • Critically evaluate and challenge our interpretation of the Financial Regulations, clarifications, and model the impact of proposed changes.

  • Build and maintain agile costing models that can be used for cost-performance analysis and optimisation.

  • Track financial regulatory KPIs to measure performance and identify areas for improvement.

  • Scenario planning and sensitivity analysis to support our response to events and strategic decision making.

  • Interrogate large volumes of data to present metrics that encourage data-driven decision making.

  • Work closely with the Functional Business Partners in identifying opportunities and risks to maximise the value of spend within the Financial Regulations.

  • Support with Financial Regulations submissions, audit queries and improvements in reporting.

  • Critically approach adhoc project work and develop logical solutions.

Required Skills

  • At least 5 years relevant work experience.

  • Degree or equivalent with a strong academic and/or professional development record.

  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders across different departments in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

  • Experience managing a team or direct reports.

  • Able to provide examples where the status quo has been challenged and the positive impact or outcome on the business.

  • Demonstratable experience critically reviewing and interpreting detailed regulatory or legal documentation and ability to apply to day-to-day scenarios.

  • Demonstrable experience of leading on cost reduction initiatives and their measures of success.

  • Strong capability to use latest business intelligence tools (e.g. Microsoft Power BI) to interrogate data, problem solve and provide recommendations.

  • Experience of manufacturing and/or engineering industry and understanding of stock processes is desirable but not essential.

  • Experience of working with budgets and or financial data is desirable but a background in Finance or Accounting is not necessarily required.
