Role

The European HR Manager based in our Munich office in Germany will deliver and support our people processes in Germany as well as expansion efforts in Europe. This position requires an experienced HR professional well versed in all aspects of human resources including talent acquisition, compensation and benefits, succession planning, workforce planning, organizational/leadership development and employment law. 

The European Regional HR Manager will work closely with the Fisker Talent Team in Los Angeles to deliver value-added services to management and employees across Europe that reflects the business objectives of the organization

This person will report directly into the VP Sales & Service Europe with a dotted line to the global HR Director.

Location: Munich, Germany

Responsibilities

  • Closely work with Corporate Talent functions (e.g. Talent Management, Compensation Benefits including leave management, Talent Acquisition, Talent Development) to ensure alignment in strategies and implementation across Europe
  • Help and support the VP Sales & Service Europe to build and train an excellent management team
  • Ensure awareness and compliance with HR policies within the business
  • Implement/execute HR practices and initiatives within the business including Performance Management Process, Talent Review Process, Objective setting, Development planning, Succession Planning, workforce planning, etc
  • Assess, monitor and address employee questions and concerns
  • Advise and bring resolution to employee relations issues
  • Recruit, interview, and facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Support processing and maintenance of payroll records in accordance with policies and procedures, as necessary
  • Lead the onboarding process for all new hires
  • Own on-going professional development for employee population, including reviewing, tracking and documenting compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training.
  • Create/Revise/update country specific employee handbooks within Europe aligned with overall Corporate Handbook required, to adhere to new regulations
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with the legal department as needed/required.
  • Serve as a liaison between employees and management to provide counsel to employees and management on employee relations matters to maintain a productive and positive work environment
  • Coach managers through employee relations issues of varying complexity, providing guidance on conversations with employees, the employee relations process, and potential legal issues (partners with Legal and other relevant stakeholders)
  • Involve appropriate resources as necessary and conducts and documents employee investigations as needed and ensures timely and responsible resolution
  • Own the full performance management process including objective setting, annual reviews, etc.
  • Coach managers on assessing and developing talent recommending and monitoring follow-up actions to maximize employee productivity through swift and timely resolution of employee performance issues. Ensure appropriate corrective action steps are taken, including: coaching, verbal/written warnings (corrective action), and Coaching Development Plans
  • Partner with management to optimise employee engagement levels by analysing and communicating annual Engagement Survey results and recommend actions to support employee retention
  • Partner with Compensation Benefits on job evaluation and market pricing for job

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field. A Masters degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in broad-based human resources function with advanced knowledge of Human Resource discipline
  • Prior experience working across multiple countries within Europe required.
  • Having worked in Human Resources in Germany before
  • Fluency in German and English required
  • Other languages are a plus value
  • Knowledge of national employment legislation and regulations in a European context
