Electronics Technician

Pratt Miller is currently looking for an Electronics Technician to join our team.

Candidate will apply best practices for the build and install of wiring harnesses for engineering development. Candidate must have experience interpreting wiring schematics and pin schedules, as well as, building and installing wiring harnesses for vehicle applications.

Position will require working individually or with a small team of engineers / technicians to execute customer projects. Projects include motorsports, automotive, defense, and commercial industries. Builds are regularly custom or low volume builds requiring the technician to be comfortable with a challenging, rapidly changing environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Typical responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following items:

  • Interface directly with electrical engineers to specify appropriate electrical components to construct wiring harnesses for engineering applications
  • Interpret engineering schematics, pin schedules, and loom drawings to construct quality wiring harnesses
  • Install wire harnesses on prototype vehicles and support electrical system checkout and calibration
  • Work with engineers to debug electronics issues on test vehicles
  • Repair existing wiring harnesses in-vehicle or on test bench
  • Manage inventory of electronics components and complete documentation for all loom builds

Essential Knowledge and Skills

Desired Specialized Knowledge and Skills:

  • Experience building electrical wiring harnesses and documenting loom builds
  • Competency in general wiring practices such as soldering, splicing, utilization of various connectors, etc.
  • Ability to work in groups to solve problems and find innovative solutions to engineering challenges
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well as a team player
  • High level of initiative and dependability
  • Knowledge of System 25 sleeving and boots, type 55 wiring down to 28 AWG, and Autosport/Mil grade connector systems beneficial

Qualification Requirements:

  • A combination of training and experience that would qualify the candidate to apply electronics technology and wiring capability for vehicle testing.
  • US citizen or Green Card holder required Work Environment/Physical Demands:
