Electronics Team Manager

About The Role

On the track, Formula 1 is a team sport. And the business behind is the same. We’re looking for an Electronics Development Manager to join our team. You will manage a multi-disciplinary team that produce a wide range of bespoke solutions to support the timing, televising, and organisation of Formula 1 events.

 

Reporting into the Head of Electronics, you will:

  • Take the lead on electronics developments being delivered by the team, being responsible for the full lifecycle through conception, design, development, testing, system integration and deployment
  • Contribute to the architectural decisions and drive the technical decisions relating to electronics development
  • Provide planning and priorities, and interface with cross functional inputs to support successful design, development, and deployment
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement of technologies and methodologies to increase productivity and ensure technology standards are followed
  • Support and advise operational departments with their activities and duties with regards to provided solutions
  • Provide input to department level budget planning. Manage team budgets as delegated by the Head of Department

About You

 

You have:

  • Educated to degree level (or equivalent vocational and industry experience) in electronics engineering (or suitable equivalent, such as computer science or embedded systems)
  • Strong background in the engineering domain
  • Engineering design of products with electronic elements and components
  • Previous team management or leadership role
  • Excellent communication skills, being able to tailor information to the target audience

Desirable:

  • Development of embedded system software and OS
  • Working with networking and serial protocols
  • Architecting embedded systems
  • Using MATLAB and Simulink
  • Programming in C, Python, C++, C#, Java, VHDL, and Verilog
  • Linux development in an embedded environment
  • Development with the Xilinx MPSoC family
