Job Description

We are looking for a positive professional that can work well in a fast paced, dynamic manufacturing setting. This position will be responsible for the calibration of all electrical test equipment used at Miller Electric, Bernard, and TEO, as well as some outsource vendors. Responsible for the record keeping and scheduling of off-site calibrations. Responsible for repairs on the test equipment if repairable. Will work closely with engineers on purchase of new test equipment. Works with vendors of off-shelf test equipment. Responsible for shipping out and tracking equipment that goes back to OEM manufacturer for calibrations. Also responsible for following and maintaining calibration procedures per ISO requirements.

Essential Functions

  • Evaluate condition of equipment and perform necessary repairs to equipment as required.
  • Willingness to accommodate the customer’s schedule and production demands.
  • Quality control experience.
  • Attend calibration training on an annual basis to stay up to date with current certifications in calibration.
  • Flexibility to work unscheduled/short notice overtime.
  • Have expertise on all forms of test equipment to recommend equipment that is already in Miller Electrics system to manage the size of the calibration procedure pool.
  • Provide feedback to business units on testing/calibration abnormalities.
  • Manage equipment used offsite by remote employees and business partners.
  • Respond to record requests during audits both internal and external.
  • Research, recommend, price, and purchase equipment for business units.
  • Develop and modify calibration procedures.
  • Research and develop solutions to specific calibration issues.
  • Advise on equipment installs.

Qualifications

  • Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • An associate degree or pursuit of an associate degree in electronics, electro-mechanical, or related field.
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel, and ability to write accurate and concise reports is required.
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs.
  • Ability to work well independently and in a team setting.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize.
  • Up to 5% travel may be required.
