ELECTRIC VEHICLE POWERTRAIN ENGINEER

Ilmor Engineering are recruiting for current projects and future Initiatives.  We have a successful track record in the technologically advanced design, manufacture, and production of race engines at the very highest levels of motorsport.   With Electric, Hybrid and IC Engine projects spanning the Racing, Automotive and Marine sectors, we have diverse opportunities within our Engineering Departments.

As an EV Powertrain Engineer at Ilmor you will be working on the performance and mechanical development of a variety of EV powertrain units for race and general automotive applications.

 

You must be able to demonstrate:

  • At least three years post graduate experience in the field of EV testing and development
  • A good degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering
  • A well developed understanding of engineering principles and EV powertrain systems
  • Experience with developing BEV, HEV and PHEV powertrain systems
  • In depth knowledge of EV dynamometer testing and systems
  • A high level of competence in planning and executing testing activities, analysing data and reporting findings in a clear and succinct manner
  • Knowledge of automotive communications (CAN, FlexRay, LIN, Ethernet) and application tools ( e.g. Vector and ETAS etc )
  • Experience of battery testing is desirable
