DTM Race Engineer (m/w)

This position will include the work within a group of race – and performance engineers and will attend all DTM race events. The job requires to be fulltime based in Meuspath, Germany.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and organize car preparation on and off track with mechanics and engineers
  • Full responsibility of workflow in execution of race and test events
  • Create runplans and test programs in coordination with performance engineers
  • Setup development for race and test events
  • Take strategy decisions in assistance of strategy software and in coordination with performance engineers
  • Radio communication to driver and team during events
  • Continuous interaction with Audi Sport engineers and mechanics
  • Post event reports for technical documentation of events
  • Appliance of analysis and simulation
  • Prepare / analyse / attend in DiL simulator sessions

Qualification and Skills:

  • Degree level in engineering or equivalent is required
  • Experience as race engineer in high level motorsport (DTM, Formula 1, Formula 2, Formula E or LMP)
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal (English is a must, German appreciated)
  • Work to a consistently high standard in stressful and time sensitive situations, whilst prioritising and managing workload efficiently
  • Strong “team player” skills and ability to lead a group of mechanics and engineers
  • Technical background in mathematics, scientific computing, modelling, simulating and optimisation
  • Advanced knowledge and understanding in vehicle dynamics is required
  • Experience in data analysis software (preferred WinTax)
  • Solid computer knowledge, experience with Microsoft Office software
  • Attend the full DTM program including test and race events; Additional simulator sessions and other race events throughout the Phoenix motorsport program are likely
