Composite Support Engineer

Williams’ core competencies are the design and development of racing cars to compete in the Formula One World Championship. As one of the world's leading Formula One teams, the company has secured 16 FIA Formula One World Championship titles since its foundation in 1977.

 

The position:

 

We are currently seeking an ambitious Composites Support Engineer to join our F1 Composites Design group, working on a wide variety of projects. This is a fast-paced environment and to succeed in this role the candidate will need to be adaptable, demonstrate initiative and enjoy working under pressure to meet tight deadlines

 

Key operational Duties:

  • Concept design through to detailing of composite components and assemblies.
  • Flexibility & agility to cover design details on a wide range of composite assemblies.
  • Calculation work and production of supporting documentation for factory and trackside.
  • End to end ownership of projects, incorporating manufacture, build, testing and racing, including fault analysis and resolution.
  • Promoting best design practice and driving continuous improvement.

Core Skills:

 

The candidate will have a good understanding of composites engineering and manufacturing technologies. Strong CAD skills are necessary, ideally with experience of NX, however training will be provided for conversion from other CAD systems.

 

Applicants should bring a creative, proactive approach to problem-solving, along with attention to detail. A friendly, collaborative outlook, with good communication and organization skills will help the successful candidate integrate well into our design team.
