Director of Ticket Operations

Position Purpose:

  • The primary responsibilities of this position will be to oversee the service and operations of Chicagoland Speedway & Route 66 Raceway’s ticketing department, including event tickets, hospitality, group sales, and corporate RV areas across the entire season of events scheduled at both properties.  
  • This position will lead CLS & R66’s efforts as it pertains to data analytics to help make more informed decisions as it pertains to our marketing efforts and sales outreach.

Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks:

  • Design, implement and execute the overall ticket sales and operations plan in conjunction with Director of Ticket Sales
  • Lead renewal process and growth of existing accounts, including targeted outbound campaigns, promotions, and ticket purchaser events
  • Proactively communicate to BU Leadership team real-time fan feedback, ticket sales trends, and recommendations on how to proceed and improve to meet business goals.
  • Spearhead all CLS and R66 analytical driven data and communicate those results to Partnership Marketing and Consumer Marketing teams to help them make more informed decisions based on the data
  • Develop a research plan to measure and monitor ticket buyer opinions
  • Work with colleagues from other departments within the organization to ensure that all possible revenue is generated across the various platforms
  • Responsible for the recruitment and training of the inbound sales staff 
  • Manage the Ticketing Department budget
  • Comply with company wide CRM tool for revenue reporting purposes. Meet or exceed weekly/month/yearly corporate ticketing revenue and admission goals. 
  • Maintain high level of customer service to existing and new customers 
  • Develop new and innovative premium hospitality platforms, assisting in the advancement of sales efforts 
  • Responsible for the development, implementation and growth of the ticket operations department
  • Manage the creation of all ticket sales printed pieces
  • Remain aware of trends in the industry and marketplace and lead the Business Unit on new initiatives in the ticketing/ticket sales space
  • Ensure a high level of customer service pre, during, and post race and events
  • Hire temporary event staffing and oversee box office operations team 
  • Represent the team at various community events, such as festivals, sporting events, etc. with the responsibility of informing the community about the track and the various events held at the track, and marketing ticket sales packages and promotions 
  • Active participation in regional civic, social, and industry events 
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

 Qualifications:

  • 4-year college degree from accredited College or University 
  • 8+ years of property, team, media, and/or sports/entertainment sales and/or ticket operations experience
  • Highly organized with attention to detail 
  • Strong financial management and analytical skills
  • Strong leadership skills, coaching and developing teams 
  • Driven by success and possess a “must-win” mentality 
  • Computer knowledge (MS Word, Excel, Internet, CRM Tools, PowerPoint) 
  • Must be able to work flexible hours including events on nights and weekends 
  • Excellent communication and time management skills with friendly and professional demeanor 
  • Must demonstrate flexible and creative problem solving skills 
  • Ability to handle a large volume of cold calling and prospecting 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills 
  • Must be able to work well in a team environment interacting with multiple departments 
  • Must possess a positive attitude, professionalism, integrity, motivation, and a very strong work ethic. 
  • Must be able and willing to travel as needed for meetings
