We are currently looking for a Direct Procurement Manager to fill a new and exciting position within our Production Department

 

PURPOSE

  • To oversee and lead a team of Direct procurement professionals giving direction and development in order to achieve a professional and efficient Direct procurement function.
  • Develop improvement plans for the team and the function while keeping the agility required to function as a procurement area in a formula 1 team.
  • Drive for competitive cost through strategic procurement of parts and materials while ensuring delivery and quality targets are met.
  • To actively contribute to the Team’s primary objective of consistently being a top three team in the FIA Formula 1 Constructor’s Championship.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Management of a Direct Procurement team sourcing raw materials, proprietary and manufactured components for the organisation ensuring best Cost, Delivery and Quality.
  • Development of the current procurement team, control systems and KPI’s to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the procurement processes
  • Development of a set of Supplier KPI’s, monitor those and ensure minimum levels are met.
  • Coordinate internally manufactured component parts for external supply
  • Implement, lead and drive a strategic improvement plan within the procurement process
  • Develop a strategic plan for a reliable and robust supply chain fit for purpose across all capabilities.
  • Work closely with other areas of the business to establish a reliable, robust and environmentally conscious supply chain.
  • To chair, attend and proactively participate in meetings as required
  • To work proactively, responsibly and professionally at all times and to respect and comply with the company’s reporting structure
  • To maintain and develop skill levels to industry standard and maintain current and thorough working knowledge of the companies ERP system IFS
  • Any other duties as reasonably requested aligned to your job role

 

Skills & Knowledge Required

  • Possess an excellent working knowledge of all areas of direct procurement, composite, metallic and proprietary products preferably within the Motorsport and manufacturing sectors
  • Possess a thorough understanding of the pressures that exist within a top-level formula 1 team
  • Demonstrate a good working knowledge of different manufacturing methods relevant to this role
  • Possess an understanding of engineering drawings, both mechanical and composite.
  • Previous experience as a procurement team leader or similar in a Formula One environment / high level Motorsport environment
  • Be available to travel as and when required to fulfil the requirements of the role in which employed
  • To be self-motivated and to motivate others to thrive in a challenging environment
  • Ability to calmly and confidently work under pressure to achieve targets and deliver results within required timescales
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure
  • To communicate effectively, positively and respectfully with all colleagues
  • To have a flexible attitude and ability to work as part of a team in a demanding and rapidly changing environment
