Job Description

The NASCAR Foundation is seeking a professional to fill an opening as a Development Representative within the fast paced Fundraising Department. 

Summary 

The Development Representative role is responsible for a $600,000 fundraising goal by managing a combination of the fundraising initiatives outlined below.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Responsibilities include managing, recruiting, and expanding fundraising opportunities across various development platforms. 
  • Developing and executing annual plan for Online Auctions, includes securing experiences and items, supervision of intern for auction fulfillment, and ongoing stewardship of auction donors. 
  • Supporting major donor giving and direct mail initiatives to maximize fundraising opportunities through donor solicitation and cultivation.  This includes researching prospective donors, compiling data and reports from Foundation database and other sources in which Foundation staff can use in cultivation process.   
  • Managing, recruiting, and expanding volunteer efforts for at-track and off-track fundraising programs.  This may include day to day management of efforts in the areas of volunteers, special fundraising events, at track fundraising and through individual and major donor giving efforts.  Includes oversight of Fan Ambassador Committee.  Schedules and hosts regular meetings with ambassadors and develops Fan Ambassador Committee manual.   
  • Planning and managing all aspects of on-site at track booth activities at participating tracks for Foundation.  
  • This role is responsible for the retail merchandise program to include development of revenue goals for merchandise products, recruiting outlets to sell merchandise, ensuring products delivery, collecting payment for items sold and acknowledgement of outlets for participation in sales efforts. Works with marketing to design, order and deliver all product to various outlets.   
  • Event management and execution of specific Foundation fundraising events, as assigned. 
  • Compile and produce fundraising and development status reports.   
  • Travels throughout the NASCAR Season for fundraising and event execution (up to 30%) including weekends.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university
  • Two (2) to three (3) years of fundraising, sales, marketing, administration and/or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • This position requires a person with the ability to multi-task, handle communications, logistics and follow-through on multiple events/programs concurrently.
