DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER – ICE Calibration and Mechanical Development

Ilmor Engineering are recruiting for current projects and future Initiatives.  We have a successful track record in the technologically advanced design, manufacture, and production of race engines at the very highest levels of motorsport.   With Electric, Hybrid and IC Engine projects spanning the Racing, Automotive and Marine sectors, we have diverse opportunities within our Engineering Departments.

We require an experienced Development Engineer to provide dedicated support to the performance and mechanical development of high performance IC Race Engines.

 

You must be able to demonstrate:

  • A minimum of 8 years experience in Automotive Engine Calibration and Development
  • A good degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles and IC engine systems
  • In depth knowledge of full engine dynamometer and sub-system rig testing
  • Experienced in Torque based mapping
  • A high level of competence in planning and executing testing activities, analysing data and reporting findings in a clear and succinct manner
  • Knowledge of combustion pressure measurements and data analysis (e.g. AVL Indicom)
  • An ability to design development components (CAD training will be provided)

This role will be part of a team providing trackside support for US based events on a rotational basis, so a desire and willingness to travel is essential.
