Design Engineer – Aerodynamics Model Design

To support the growth of the team, we have exciting opportunities to be part of the Aerodynamics Department in the role of Design Engineer - Aerodynamics Model Designer

 

Key Responsibilities

  • This is an incredibly fast paced and varied design role that requires you to work on the construction of CAD concept surfaces, wind tunnel model and mechanical projects.
  • Working from within our Aerodynamic Development group, you will be responsible for delivering a wide variety of designs. You will then progress these designs into component form and fitment onto our wind tunnel model for subsequent testing.
  • You will make a direct contribution to our development and performance with your successful designs forming a key part of our continued successful progress.
  • Successful candidates will possess exceptional communication and organisational skills whilst also being dynamic and above all flexible. You will be able to demonstrate strong surfacing and mechanical design skills as well having recent production engineering experience.
  • You must be able to thrive in a fast-paced team working environment.

 

    The successful candidate must have the following attributes

    • Excellent degree level qualifications in Mechanical, Automotive or Motorsports Engineering.
    • Possess three or more years relevant workplace experience in either Motorsports, Product, Industrial, Automotive or Mechanical design.
    • Significant DFM/DFA experience including in depth knowledge of GD & T.
    • Excellent knowledge of Catia and parametric modelling techniques.

     

    Key Skills:

    • Strong communicator with excellent organisational skills.
    • Be highly creative with a dynamic and original approach to problem solving.
    • Be able to progress multiple concurrent projects.
    • Good understanding of additive manufacturing techniques
    • Strong visual skills are essential.

     

    The standard hours are 8.30-5.30
