Customer Service Specialist

As a Customer Service Specialist, you will serve as a key contact and liaison for customers to ensure their total satisfaction. You will interact with customers by phone and email on an ongoing basis; entering orders, handling requests, and providing support needed in a timely, professional, and courteous manner. The ideal candidate loves talking to people and proactively solving issues. You will be responsible for supporting customers' inquiries and resolving any issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure every customer experience is top notch in quality
  • Communicate with customers via phone, email, or in-person
  • Handle incoming and outgoing customer calls and written correspondence in a professional, timely manner, ensuring follow up on all customer issues
  • Provide knowledgeable answers to questions about products, pricing, and availability
  • Coordinate customer service requests including order entry, pricing, expediting, billing, order maintenance, credit and claims
  • Work with internal departments to meet customer's needs
  • Provide accurate quotes to customers with current price, lead time, and terms
  • Enter purchase orders, process sales orders in Traverse system, acknowledge orders to customers, and confirm the delivery schedule.
  • Review open sales order reports and check for on-time delivery schedules.
  • Data entry in various platforms
  • Report to management all important customer concerns and inquiries in a timely manner.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to multi-task, organize, and prioritize work
  • Strong Microsoft program and data-entry skills
  • Comfortable talking on the phone to customers
  • Previous sales or customer service experience
  • Ability to resolve routine problems and questions independently
  • Ability to pay close attention to details and use time effectively
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with good vocabulary, proper grammar, and the ability to independently compose routine written communications

Work status and Environment

  • This is a full-time position working onsite, M-F. Must be able to commute to the office daily
