Crewing Manager

NASCAR seeks a talented professional to join in the position of Crewing Manager based in Charlotte, NC.

The Crewing Manager is responsible for ensuring the crewing requirements are met for assigned projects. The Senior Manager oversees and manages multiple aspects of the production workflow for all Productions projects.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Evaluate crewing requirements for each assigned production/project and oversee and/or develop and maintain crew and travel schedules for multiple, simultaneous events and projects
  • Evaluate and manage show, event and project budgets to determine appropriate staff selections, negotiate rates and terms as necessary
  • Oversee the sourcing, selection, hiring and on-boarding of “freelance” employees; communicate on-going training requirements
  • Oversee the sourcing, selection, and hiring of Independent Contractors, ensuring that all required paperwork is complete and on file per company policy
  • Develop and initiate preparation of handbooks, bulletins, and information systems in relation to travel logistics support
  • Track, compile and submit record of hours worked, invoices and expense reports according to Payroll and Finance schedules
  • Work closely with Human Resources to track and manage hours worked, scheduled, and available for benefits eligibility purposes
  • Make recommendations and collaborate on the creation and implementation of departmental processes
  • Provide guidance and support for any logistics and crewing issues in the office and on-site; including weekends and evenings
  • Complete ad-hoc assignments as requested by department leadership
  • Provide backup coverage for department vacations, etc.
  • Travel Required: 10%; including weekends

Required skills / experience:

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university and minimum of six (6) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of company provided hardware and software including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Valid driver's license preferred
  • Must be well organized and be flexible to shifting priorities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to build professional relationships
  • Ability to work nights and weekends as needed                                               
  • Knowledge of television production procedures
