Corner Worker/Marshal

JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary/Objective

The Corner Worker/Marshal is responsible for an assigned area on our racetrack for events. They are responsible for the safety of competitors and are stationed at various points of turns around racetracks to assist and communicate in case of any collisions, accidents or track problems.

Essential Functions

  • Ability to work outdoors at trackside
  • Work in a fast-‐paced, TEAM
  • Use color-‐coded flags to properly communicate track conditions to vehicles on the
  • Use hand-‐held radios to communicate with the “control” position in the North Tower in the event of any issue
  • Provides statistical and performance feedback to immediate
  • Shares continual responsibility for helping identify incidents and issues on track and ensuring it is properly communicated
  • Adheres to work procedures and processes that support the company and departmental standards, procedures and strategic
  • Uses appropriate judgment in upward communication regarding department or employee

Work Environment

This job operates in an outdoor setting. Need to have the ability to work in adverse weather conditions and stand for 8 hours a day.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear and listen. The employee is constantly required to stand; walk; use hands to flag; and reach with hands and arms.

The employee must frequently lift or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a part-‐time position. Days and hours vary per event. Mostly 8 hour weekend days ranging in between the hours of 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Occasional holiday work may be required as job duties demand.

Preferred/Required Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED diploma or equivalent number of years’
  • One to two years work experience preferably in an outdoor
