Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced, highly motivated and resourceful Contracts Manager to join Fisker’s expanding Legal team. The Contracts Manager will provide strategic negotiation, risk assessment and management, contract drafting and process management support to our commercial business teams under the direction of a member of the Legal team. The role will involve extensive collaboration with cross-functional teams across the organization and therefore requires outstanding interpersonal and leadership skills, as well as a team-first mentality. As one of the first members of Fisker’s Legal team, the Contracts Manager will be expected to elevate standards across the organization by designing and implementing best contract practices. Fisker is a young, growth-focused company and therefore the successful candidate must thrive in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

  • Draft, evaluate, negotiate, and execute commercial nominations, supply agreements, purchase orders, statements of work and other commercial agreements between Fisker and third parties.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders and external parties by serving as a point of contact for commercial transactions.
  • Guide cross-functional commercial teams on commonly requested edits, non-standard terms, and general contractual questions.
  • Leverage prior experience to assist in the development, improvement, management and maintenance of Fisker’s standard contract templates (including nominations, purchase orders and NDAs, among others) to streamline the contracting process, reduce friction with customers and suppliers, and mitigate risk for the company.
  • Assist in the development, management, and maintenance of a centralized contract repository, as well as with compliance with existing contract terms and conditions.
  • Develop and provide on-going contracts-related training to relevant Fisker employees.
  • Juggle competing priorities, while still meeting deadlines, in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
  • Roll-up sleeves and assist other Legal team members with ongoing projects, as requested, which may include SEC reporting and compliance, IP and litigation support, subsidiary oversight, corporate recordkeeping, and other ad-hoc projects.
  • Assist other functional teams on an as-needed basis.

Qualifications / Knowledge / Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 5+ years of progressive responsibility with quantifiable results in contract negotiation, administration and/or management. Strong preference for candidates with OEM and/or Tier 1 automotive experience.
  • Knowledge of supply, procurement, and other commercial agreements, ideally with some international experience.
  • Prior experience working in a high growth or start-up environment.
  • Resourceful self-starter with excellent problem-solving capabilities, judgment, negotiation, communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to independently manage high-volume workloads, multiple stakeholder demands and ever-shifting priorities all while instilling confidence.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams and SharePoint.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and ability to operate independently with limited oversight.
  • High energy, strong work ethic, team player and positive attitude.
  • Recognition of the importance of confidentiality given sensitive nature of role.
