CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGER - FTC

The project is a £13M Capital investment infrastructure project which needs support for an initial 9 months. The intent of the project is to take the Carbon Manufacturing processes that currently exist at MTC and relocate these to a new building approx. 1mile away in Woking however this isn’t a lift and shift of current assets from one location to another, the project involves the procurement of new assets which include machine tools, Autoclaves, and various smaller tools & equipment. The project therefore requires a full design process which involved creating a new manufacturing layout identifying where different processes are to be located, where new assets are to be located and the services and plant required to make the factory operational.

The project is working to the timeline of being fully operational in the new facility by March 2023, which is the smoothest transition time for us during F1 car build.

Project Status,

The project is currently in delivery phase, with construction work having started on site already in order to meet the timelines mentioned above. A summary of current status:

  • Stage 4 RIBA design complete & issued
  • Main contractor chosen and PCSA agreement in place in order to start construction works (Phase 1)
  • JCT Intermediate contract being drafted and passed between both legal teams
  • Client requirements being drafted to include as appendices to the JCT contract
  • Full CSA close to being agreed with main contractor
  • Phase 1 program received and agreed, full Project program still to be confirmed
  • Contract Administrator & QS onboarded to support
