Communications Executive

At the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team, a group of passionate and determined people work to design, develop, manufacture and race the cars driven by seven-time World Champion Lewis Hamilton and rising star George Russell.

 

The Team has set a new benchmark for Formula One success during the sport’s current Hybrid era, winning consecutive Drivers’ and Constructors’ World Championships in 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020, and the Constructors’ Championship in 2021.

 

As our Communications Executive your responsibilities will include:

Reporting to the Head of Corporate Communications, the primary focus of your role will be providing communications support for our Diversity, Equality & Inclusion initiatives, assisting with our internal communications and reward programmes, with the opportunity to support on events and tasks within the wider Communications department.

  • Support Head of Corporate Communications on DE&I communications topics

  • Build partnership with HR-based Head of DE&I to ensure alignment with company objectives

  • Main point of contact for our DE&I partners on communications topics

  • Planning and coordination of and attendance at DE&I events

  • Coordination and maintenance of DE&I communications planning schedule

  • Planning, execution and delivery of DE&I related content with Digital team

  • Delivery of media activation for DE&I initiatives and events as required

  • Attend internal DE&I Forum meetings as Communications representative

  • Assist with creation of Annual Sustainability report, with specific focus on DE&I

  • Assist with coordination of internal communications and employee reward programmes

  • Involvement and support with Applied Science and Ignite initiatives and events as required

  • Support for wider Communications activities, including event attendance and training

  • Assist with administrative functions of wider Communications department as required

 

What we are looking for:

You will thrive on working in a fast-paced, busy team, possess excellent communication and written skills and have high levels of drive.

  • Experience of working within a Communications function, ideally with DE&I/Sustainability focus

  • First-class organisational and time management skills with a sound attention to detail

  • Ability to prioritise, multi-task and work independently with confidence in a busy department

  • Confident writer and communicator with excellent English language writing and editing skills

  • Ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders across our team and our DE&I partners

  • Flexibility in hours and approach is required, along with a ‘can do’ team attitude
