CNC Programming Engineer

TRD is looking for a highly motivated and experienced CNC Programming Engineer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for developing and maintaining NC Programs that meet close tolerance specifications and production schedule need dates in support of company Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE) metrics/goals.
  • Provide technical information, drawings and instructions concerning materials, machining, work holdings fixtures, and quality inspections plans.
  • Maintain and control process documentation including Vericut simulation process files, edit free NC Programs, NC Process flowcharts, work holding fixture drawings, machine operator instructions, machine tool lists and quality inspections plans.
  • Identify and understand engineering and machining process problems, including machine efficiency.
  • Take appropriate countermeasures toward problem resolutions, root cause analysis, and best practice procedures to avoid recurrence.

Required:

  • 3+ years experience working with Heidenhain or Seimens Machine Controls.
  • BS degree: Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent work experience relating to the position.
  • 5-10 years experience in metal removal process with strong focus on 3+ 2 point axis milling.
  • 5 years programming experience with strong focus on multi-axes milling using Autodesk Powermill and Autodesk FeatureCam.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience with multi-axis high speed machining of aluminum.
  • Experienced user of Vericut simulation software.
  • Proficient understanding of engineering drawing with strong knowledge of GD&T.
  • Minimum 1 year experience with CREO for CAD operation set up drawings

Preferred Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience with manufacturing engineering including lean principles and problem solving.

  • High level of technical comprehension in metal removal process.

  • Proficient using Microsoft Office software applications.

Skills:

  • Ability to lift 40 lbs.

  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time.

  • Constantly operates a computer and other equipment office machinery.
