Position Description

As Calibration Assistant, you are responsible for all activity in the dynamometer cell: working directly with our Senior Calibrator who operates remotely out of National Speed HQ, you will ensure each vehicle is set-up and strapped-down safely (e.g., proper strapping for specific vehicle type, no straps routing in path or proximity to wastegate dumptubes, taking proper precautions not to stress or damage each vehicle's strapped-to components, etc.), perform dyno runs, collect data (utilizing a broad range of different engine management solutions and auxiliary software & systems), and install custom calibrations provided by our Senior Performance Calibrator on a variety of vehicles.

While this position's primary focus is calibration work, some mechanical work should be expected – this work includes, but is not limited to: mechanical inspections (boost-leak testing, spark plug inspection & installation, etc.), mechanical diagnostics, and dyno maintenance.  You will be installing calibrations on customer vehicles for both tune-only appointments, as well as National Speed builds.  For this role, an understanding of performance systems is crucial for success -- knowing what an acceptable air:fuel ratio is per application, being able to identify possible issues under a hood, being able to identify concerning smells or sounds, etc.

Our Performance Consultants bring in well-planned projects and you make them happen with the full support of our operations staff.  Your focus as Calibration Associate is to achieve the project goal (desired result within time available) while adhering to Company quality standards.
