Broadcast Production Engineer

Our key to success is an organisation that values passion, integrity, and respect. To help deliver against this global vision we are seeking a Broadcast Production Engineer to join the Media Engineering team based at our Media & Technology Centre in Biggin Hill.

In this role you will be required to ensure F1’s production systems are correctly commissioned and maintained and continue to meet the ongoing broadcast requirements.

Main responsibilities: 

 

  • Install, commission, maintain and operate F1’s inventory of broadcast equipment both at the Media & Technology Centre and at Grand Prix events.
  • Together with the Media Engineering team and working closely with other departments, design & upgrade F1’s broadcast engineering and production infrastructure, both at the Media and Technology Centre and at Grand Prix events, in order to continue to meet F1’s current and future broadcast requirements.
  • Have a keen interest in future broadcast technologies and assist colleagues with the design and implementation of projects.
  • Provide engineering support during F1 events either at the Remote Technical Centre (RTC), Biggin Hill or the Event Technical Centre (ETC), circuit.

  • To complete all mandatory training within specified timelines.
  • To operate safely at all times in line with Company health and safety requirements.
  • To undertake other duties within your capabilities as your Department Manager or Team Manager may assign to you from time to time.

About You

Essential

  • Experience within a live broadcast engineering team.
  • Knowledge of HD, 3G, UHD, HDR & IP broadcast standards.
  • Good knowledge of cameras systems
  • Experience of configuring and programming vision mixers to production requirements
  • A high degree of computer literacy
  • Knowledge of traditional and emerging broadcast technologies, infrastructures, operations, equipment and systems engineering
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Good communication skills
  • Able to multitask & work under pressure
  • Willing and able to travel internationally
  • Full UK/EU Driving License

Desirable

  • BSc or equivalent qualification in Broadcast TV Engineering & Operations.
  • Experience working in live sports outside broadcast
  • Good working knowledge of AutoCAD.
