Battery Design Expert

The Battery Design Expert has the exciting job of developing battery systems and subsystems for high-performance vehicles. Based in Croatia you would be developing the best electric vehicle in the world and pushing high-performance vehicles to their absolute limits.

The client is a very fast-moving company, and as a result they adopt new techniques and technologies on a regular basis. You must be prepared for a continuous learning process and open to embracing new technologies as you push the boundaries of engineering to create excellence.

This role requires a good understanding of mechanical and electrical (basic) engineering. The Battery Systems Engineering team collaborates closely with other departments and works on perhaps the most exciting automotive programs in existence today.


• CAD modelling of the battery pack components

• Managing subsystems and component level design requirements through collaboration with customers, the Homologation department, the Vehicle department and other Electrical Engineering related departments

• Components validation plans and test methods

• Developing cooling systems in battery packs

• Electrical components layout – co-work with electrical engineers

• Technical drawings and production documentation

• Providing support to assembly and testing teams during product operations

• Providing support to ongoing product and process improvement


Main tasks:

• Battery pack systems and subsystems research and development

• CAD modelling in collaboration with other team members

• Design, develop and release component and system specifications

• Supervising the testing of finished products and systems



• Advanced knowledge of CAD software (preferably Catia or Solidworks)

• Experience in any one (or more) of the following production processes: injection moulding (plastics), metal stamping, sheet metal forming, die castings, vacuum casting

• Experience with product and process validation

• Good knowledge of Lithium-based battery cells

• Self-organized and goal-oriented

• Very good understanding of mechanical structures

• Good understanding of thermal analysis

• Very good knowledge of English (written and spoken) is essential

• Communicative teamwork player

• Bachelor's or higher degree in the relevant field of study

• At least 5 year of professional experience



• Extensive experience in the engineering development

• Good knowledge of production technology

• Good knowledge of the battery cell management

• Experience in cooling system design and management

• Understanding of electro-mechanical components
