SUMMARY

The Analyst, Experiential Insights is responsible for conducting fan research and analytics to help NASCAR understand all aspects of the fan journey. The Analyst improves knowledge on how to best fulfill a one-of-a-kind event experience for both current and future fans of the sport.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and execute, in partnership with Insight teams, a fan-centric research platform, providing insights around key transactional moments
  • Create thoughtful, actionable insights that inform positioning, messaging, targeting, selling and measurement, in partnership with internal business units
  • Identify and interpret consumer trends, sub-groups of interest, longitudinal data, and other key insights within various data sources to assist internal and external partners on understanding fan attitudes and behaviors
  • Serve as a key resource on NASCAR fan behavior and enable decision makers to make informed business decisions through research findings and actionable insights
  • Work across the organization to facilitate data integration opportunities
  • Fulfil ad-hoc research requests/projects from start to finish, recommending the appropriate methodologies, designing research, conducting data analysis, reporting, and presenting key insights
  • Manage supplier relationships to optimize data quality, available tools and services and cost management
  • Create impactful, relevant, and visually appealing research reports and dashboards. 
  • Work effectively in a collaborative team environment while possessing a high level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Travel: 5% including weekends

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university.
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience and/or training in market research, data strategy/science, related fields; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Experience in the sports and/or entertainment industry preferred.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. 
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Strong ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. 
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.  Must be able to perform complex statistical analysis and quantitative research methodologies.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Proficient in all company provided software.  Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills required.
  • Knowledge of SPSS, Tableau, and Adobe Creative Suite (Cloud Creative) a plus.
  • Experience with dashboard reporting tools in Qualtrics or Tableau a plus.
  • A great passion around leveraging consumer research to power a culture of understanding the ‘why’ behind transactional touchpoints. 
  • Critical thinker, able to sort through complex business issues to develop research plans
  • Collaborative and energized by the challenge of influencing the transformation of fan insights which will be applied to all parts of the business
  • Demonstrated ability to translate research data into actionable insights and recommendations
  • Ability to think out of the box and willing to try different research approaches
  • Ability to establish and maintain productive, thoughtful relationships with management, internal colleagues, external partners & industry stakeholders, influencers & media.
  • Proven ability to effectively manage conflict and demonstrated partnering skills
  • Ability to manage complex data sets through strong analytical skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects/tasks simultaneously
