AMP Kart Racing - Inventory & Sales Manager

Position Overview:

AMP Kart Racing is seeking an experienced manager to drive our karting inventory management processes and associated sales, in order to propel us into our next phase of growth. As a key member of our senior leadership team, your role will be to manage the inventory of kart parts for both our race and rental kart workshops, and to oversee all retail inventory for resale to our members and racers. You will lead and manage the sales of Praga and FK chassis and parts both in-house and through our online Kartwerks store, provide sales training and feedback for our staff, and be a key proponent of developing the sales culture throughout the business.

The ideal candidate will have an upbeat attitude and excellent communication skills, with a proven track record of leadership and staff management. This person will have a strong work ethic and lead by example, who can ensure high levels of effectiveness and efficiency, and is able to maximize productivity within their team while having fun. We are looking for an adaptable team player with outstanding organizational skills, and the ability to manage a variety of demands in a fast paced and dynamic work environment.

This position includes Manager on Duty responsibilities, and requires open availability for both weekday and weekend work.

Job Description & Duties:

  • Responsible for Inventory Management of all Kart Parts and Chassis needed on site - includes tracking inventory levels, generating purchase orders, receiving shipments, stocking and pricing products, and merchandising:
  • Praga and FK chassis and parts
  • Other Non-Praga/FK parts
  • Sodi Concession Kart Workshop
  • Generating sales orders and invoices for staff and customers, ensuring payments are collected prior to product leaving the store, following up with any problems and providing resolutions for any disputes.
  • Managing the AMP Kartwerks website and all associated orders, includes management of the website itself, as well as fulfillment and shipping of orders.
  • Lead the sales of race chassis and parts within & actively source and generate new clientele, screen and follow up on inbound leads, manage the sales process from the lead stage through to the final sale, train staff and provide feedback on sales processes and techniques, proactively develop a sales culture within the business.
  • Staff Management - includes hiring, training, and scheduling in conjunction with department heads
  • Customer Service Management - manage the customer experience to maximize enjoyment and ensure satisfaction, identify and resolve customer complaints in conjunction with department heads
  • Joint responsibility of the Kart Parts and Services P&L (with the Racing and Services Manager) - both in terms revenue generation and expense controllables.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5+ years of proven work experience as an inventory manager or supervisor
  • Minimum 5+ years of sales experience preferably in an automotive-related industry
  • Must be available for opening and closing shifts on both weekdays and weekends, and to work on some select holidays
  • Passion for racing and motorsports that allows you to smile throughout your shift
  • Ability to routinely perform functions including bending, reaching, turning, climbing and lifting up to 35 pounds
  • Actively practices safety at all times
  • A valid driver’s license

Compensation: Salary plus bonus based on skills and experience
