Overview

 

An exciting opportunity exists for an Aerodynamics Analysis Engineer to join our Aero Technology Department.

 

We are looking for an engineer with knowledge of:

  • Aerodynamic development, testing, simulation and analysis techniques relevant to Formula One
  • Software development for data analysis and data manipulation

 

The successful applicant will be involved in a range of advanced aerodynamics analysis projects and the development of next generation simulation, modelling and analytical tools aiming to accelerate aerodynamic performance improvement for the race cars.

 

Skills & Knowledge Required

 

  • An excellent academic record in aerospace engineering or similar from a reputable college or university
  • Demonstrate excellent knowledge of aerodynamic fundamentals, specifically low-speed aerodynamics and bluff body aerodynamics
  • Possess an understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of the three domains for aerodynamic correlation: CFD, experimental and track
  • Demonstrate excellent knowledge and application of data science techniques in a relevant context
  • Working knowledge of a programming language with the ability and drive to solve problems and make efficiency improvements with software

 

· Ability to use own initiative and analytical thinking to contribute toward aerodynamic performance on track and the development of analysis tools and processes for the aerodynamics department

  • To be self-motivated and thrive in a challenging environment
  • Ability to calmly and confidently work under pressure to achieve targets and deliver results within required timescales
  • Possess effective written and verbal communication skills
  • To be detail oriented and have a high working standard
  • Some experience in a Formula One environment / high level Motorsport environment is desirable but not essential
  • Working knowledge of machine learning methods would be desirable but not essential
  • To have a flexible attitude and ability to work as part of a team in a demanding and rapidly changing environment
  • Be enthusiastic and versatile and be able to build and develop good working relationships with colleagues

 

The role will be based at the Silverstone Factory / Brackley premises however there may be a requirement to travel as and when requested to meet the requirements of the Company.
