General Description:
Shiftec, a specialist control electronics business to motorsport, autonomous and special vehicles are seeking a Technical Sales Support
Engineer to join the team in their Daventry location. The successful candidate will be a multi -disciplined engineer , ideally with calibration
experience and having worked in motorsport.
Experience in some or all of engine , gearshift , steering and braking control units and calibration a significant advantage . A sound
understanding of both electrical and mechanical concepts is required .
The job will involve assisting customers in select ion of the best products for their particular needs , and providing advice , both over the
phone, at customer sites and at race events on setup , installation and calibration . The role forms a critical part in the feedback loop
providing a voice of the customer to the development team to help improve products.
The job will involve travel to customer sites helping setup a range of Shiftec systems. Working in a small team the role can be wide ranging
and a willingness to learn and help wherever is required is vital.
Experience Requirements:
Mandatory: Desirable:
• Control systems calibration experience • Experience working with pneumatic and hydraulic control systems .
• Proactive mentality • Commercial awareness
• Experience wi th debugging electrical systems • Worked with a range of calibrating software and can quickly adapt to using new software.
• Understand of CAN networks, and CAN messaging structures • Experienc e with defining and understanding control strategies.
• Experience with standard engineering p ractices and quality procedures

Education/ Training Requirements
• Degree Educated in Motorsport, Mechan ical, Aerospace Engineering or e quivalent
